LUCERNA PALACE

The dominant feature in the hall is a statue of an upside-down horse made of polystyrene and epoxide resin. It is a parody of the most important Czech statue (St Wenceslas Statue). The palace was built in the first decade of XX century after a project by Václav Havel (the grandfather of the former President). The name of the palace does not come from the name of the Swiss town but from the Czech word for ‘lantern’.

DANCING HOUSE

Dancing House is sometimes called Ginger & Fred. It was built between 1992 and 1996 and designed by Frank Gehry and Vlado Milunc. It is a great contrast to Prague’s historic buildings. Dancing House is home to one of the finest restaurants, La Perle (located in the Fred’s “head”).
